Mary L. Carter

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mary L. Carter, 81, of Du Quoin, passed away at 10:50 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009 at the Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.

Mary had worked as a CNA at several area nursing homes.

She was a member of the Family Church of God in Zeigler.

She was born April 24, 1928 at Du Quoin, Ill., the daughter of Victor and Ethel (Burks) Todaro-Rossi.

She is survived by five children- Patricia L. Bruno of Du Quoin, Vernon Dale Carter of Tucson, Ariz., Kacey Jo Carter of Marana, Ariz., Terri Andrade-Oathout of Du Quoin and Jeff Carter of Du Quoin, three sisters- Catherine Feltmeyer of Du Quoin, Lillian Pulke of Du Quoin and Angeline Poe of Du Quoin, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter- Carol Ann Carter, two sisters- Pauline Cservenak and Anna McGinnis.

Funeral services were at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Denny Bush officiating.

Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial was in the Primitive Baptist Cemetery at Du Quoin.
