</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Beverly Rose (Buck) Sutton, age 76, of Bloomington, Ill., formerly of Du Quoin, Ill., passed away Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009 at BroMenn Medical Center in Bloomington, Ill.

She was born Oct. 14, 1933 in Pinckneyville, Ill. to Lawrence and Golda Carter and was married to Phillip Buck and then Orville Sutton. She was a wonderful mother and the foundation of her family. Her love and devotion to her family is reflected in her sons' dedication to their families. Everyone knew Beverly for her kindness and generosity. It was her concept that launched one of DuQuoin's most successful non-profit organizations, Project Share that provided thousands of Christmas gifts and meals to those in need for over 12 years. Beverly was a lifelong member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Du Quoin, Ill. and was a proud member of the Women's Alter Guild, donating both her time and money to help the organization achieve and exceed their goals. Beverly was best known throughout Southern Illinois as the finest waitress in the area at three of the best restaurants in their day, St. Nicholas Hotel, Alongis, and Stan Hoye's Holiday Inn, Carbondale, Ill. She took great pride in her work and passed on to her children "that no matter what you do in life, do your best at it." She was the best. A tradition that she carried on from her mother was the Sunday dinner with all the family that included the best home cooking, including homemade chicken and dumplings, fried chicken, corn on the cob, and fresh vegetables (and hot rolls for dessert). Her pie making abilities were considered a culinary art. Stan Hoye's restaurant billed 'Beverly's Pies' on the Holiday Inn marquis to bring in the customers. Her lesson to all who knew her was to always be happy with what you have because money does not bring happiness. She had enough to get by in life and any extra she always used to help someone else that needed it. Beverly's life was filled with challenges, trials, and tribulations, not just her own but those of others that she chose to accept as her burden to ease their suffering. Those who knew Beverly were blessed with her love, kindness, strength, and independence. Her character was true with integrity and of sound perseverance to make life a better place for her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her death is our loss but heaven's gain. Mom will be sadly missed - forever. We love you mom…

Surviving are her sons and their families, Richard Buck and wife Rose of Bloomington, Ill., Dennis Buck and wife Sharon and Russ Sutton and wife Leanne all of Pinckneyville, Ill.; her grandchildren, Ryan Buck, Derek Buck, Amber Buck, Alex 'Bubba' Buck, Corinna Buck, Lane Buck, all of Bloomington, Ill., Tara Buck of Du Quoin, Ill., Jordan Sutton of Edwardsville, Ill. and Brandon Sutton of Lebanon, Ill.; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Buck, Hunter Buck, Ella Buck, Peyton Dameron Buck, and David Johnson Buck; one brother, Larry Carter and wife Barbara from Springfield, Ill.; niece, Kerry McGuire of Fairview Heights, Ill.; and nephews, Danny Carter and David Carter of Springfield, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; her brother, Daniel Carter; and one grandson, Sean Buck.
