Tom B. Hines

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Tom B. Hines, 56, of Benton, Ill., passed away at 11:26 p.m., Friday, Dec. 11, 2009 at the Sparta Community Hospital in Sparta, Ill.

Tom had worked for 35 years at Phelps Dodge in Du Quoin. He had worked for six years at Spartan Printing and for seven years as a self-employed electrician. He was a member of Greenwood United Methodist Church. He was a member of IBEW, Printers Union and Teamsters.

He was born Aug, 10, 1953 at Herrin, Ill., the son of Alfred Hines.

He married Mona Oestreicher on Aug, 2, 1975 at Du Quoin, Ill. and she survives.

He is survived by his wife of Benton, two daughters - Amy N. Hines and husband Les Phelps of Ewing, Ill., and Michele L. Marlow and husband Steve of Mulkeytown, Ill., five grandchildren - Brett, Madison, Jordan, Brayden, and Macey, brothers-in-law - David Oestreicher and wife Lea of Du Quoin and Jeff Oestreicher and wife Kim of Tamaroa, sister-in-law - Diana Skidmore and husband Tony of Du Quoin, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Pastor Jean Webster officiating.

Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial was in the Ward Cemetery at Mulkeytown, Ill.
