Josephine Rose Greenwell Cornaglia
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Josephine Rose Greenwell Cornaglia, 96, of Du Quoin, passed away at 9:03 p.m., Friday, Dec. 11, 2009 at the Fair View Nursing Center in Du Quoin.
Josephine had worked as a seamstress at Country Set and Forest City for 25 years. She was of the Catholic Faith, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Home Extension, and helped with the girl scout troop. She loved to play bingo and to be with her coffee group. She also loved to go to the Du Quoin State Fair.
She was born Dec, 29, 1912 at Villa Rosa, Italy, the daughter of Santo and Grace (Daidone) Macaluso.
She married Jim Greenwell in 1935 at the Sacred Heart Church in Du Quoin and he passed away in 1964, she then married Norman Cornaglia in 1965 at the Sacred Heart Church in Du Quoin and he passed away on March 1, 1991.
She is survived by a daughter- June Hester of Mulkeytown, son- Bill Greenwell of Santa Cruz, Calif., four grandchildren- Marsha Hardin of Chicago, Anthony Greenwell of Utah, Jeffrey Greenwell of California and Kristin Hooper of California, six great grandchildren, sister- Millie Myers of Du Quoin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, three brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services were at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Pastor Jean Webster officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery at Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to Masses and will be accepted at the funeral home.
