Dorothy Stanhouse Jump
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Dorothy (Arendell) Stanhouse Jump "Granny", 84, of Du Quoin, passed away at 12:41 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 29, 2009 at her residence.
Dorothy was a retired waitress. She was an avid antique collector and dealer. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Du Quoin. She was a member of V.F.W. Post 513 Ladies Auxiliary and Du Quoin American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 647. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother "Granny", and friend. She is loved and will be sadly missed by all.
She was born Dec. 13, 1924 at Du Quoin, Ill., the daughter of Roy D. and Florence M. (Fisher) Arendell.
She married Edward P. "Scotty" Stanhouse and he preceded her in death. She then married David W. Jump on Dec. 13, 2000 at Plainfield, Ill. and he survives.
She is survived by her husband of Du Quoin, four daughters - Alice M. Bittle, Katie L. Krause and husband William, Judy M. Withers, and Dorothy Porter and husband Bill, all of Du Quoin, three sisters - Betty Fritz and husband William of St. Louis, Opal Stanhouse of Du Quoin, and Pearl Rybacki and husband Pete of Pinckneyville, nine grandchildren - Leonard Hedrick, Holley Maitland, Richard Horwath, Charles E. Chipman, Melissa M. Eichelberger, Kerry Horwath, Cynthia Stukel, Angela C. Martinez and Jennifer Chizmark, 37 great grandchildren, 19 great great grandchildren, several cousins, nieces, nephews, and sisters-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents - Roy D. Arendell and Florence (Fisher) Rednour, her first husband - Edward P. "Scotty" Stanhouse, one grandchild - Keith Allen Withers, her beloved grandparents - Almeda "Allie" Fisher and Lewis Fisher of Tamaroa who raised her and two brothers - Edward "Abbie" Arendell and Roy Allen "Tunner" Arendell.
Funeral services were at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Russell Ragovin officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial was in the Tamaroa Cemetery at Tamaroa.
In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorials to the First Christian Church in Du Quoin and will be accepted at the funeral home.
