Howard G. George

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Howard G. George, 65, of Tamaroa, passed away at 4:43 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.

Howard had worked as a mechanic at Hubler Motor Sales, as a maintenance worker and electrician for Blue Bell Packing, and as a sawmill operator. He was of the Pentecostal faith.

He was born Aug. 13, 1944 at Tamaroa, Ill., the son of Louis and Rosie (Knapp) George. He married Phyllis A. Crowe on Aug. 26, 1963 at Perryville, Mo. and she survives.

He is survived by his wife of Tamaroa, four children - Marilyn Burgess and husband Eric of Tamaroa, Caroline Burgess and husband Eugene of South Carolina, Lisa Livingston and husband Ryan of Tamaroa, and Howard George, Jr. of Tamaroa, five brothers and sisters - James George and wife Yvonne of Panama City, Fla., Edward George and wife Dorothy, Joann Skorch and husband Charles, Patsy Ellison and husband Steve, and Glen Harlan and wife Carrie, all of Tamaroa, nine grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers - Frankie George and Harold George.

Funeral services were at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009 at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa with Rev. Jackie Joe Davison officiating.

Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.

Burial was in the Tamaroa Cemetery at Tamaroa.
