Gene Livingston

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Gene "Tut" Livingston, 87, of Tamaroa, passed away at 2:40 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He had worked for Federal Barge Company and had his own welding business for many years in Chicagoland area. He owned P & P Lounge in Valier, Ill., which he and his wife bought after retirement. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. He was a Master Mason at Tamaroa Masonic Lodge, a lifetime member of Du Quoin V.F.W. and American Legion and a member of Du Quoin Eagles.

He was born July 16, 1922 at Tamaroa, Ill., the son of Edward and Ada (Edens) Livingston.

He married Imogene Morrow on May 24, 1940 at Perryville, Mo. and they were married for 56 years. She preceded him in death on April 23, 1997.

He is survived by four daughters - Barbara Daugherty of Manhattan, Ill., Nedra (Bill) McGee of Elwood, Ill., Kathy (McCauley) Livingston of Du Quoin, and Judy (Bob) Grant of Dwight, Ill.; one sister - Frances Dunigan of Alton, Ill.; 10 grandchildren - Denise (Jim) Ellis, Joan (Carl) Fenske, Stacy (Jay) Barbiarz, Patrick Knoop, Matt Knoop, Brody and Carlie McCauley, Andy Moreno, Tim and Holly Thomason and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers, one sister, one son, and two grandsons.

Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009 at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa with Ken Plumlee officiating.

Friends called from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Sunday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.

Masonic service was held at 1:30 p.m., Sunday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.

Burial was in the Tamaroa Cemetery at Tamaroa.

Military graveside rites were conducted by the Du Quoin V.F.W. and American Legion.
