Sarah Lenora Lee
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Sarah Lenora Lee, 84, of Mt. Vernon, died at 5:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 30, 2009 at Mount Vernon Countryside Manor Residential Center.
She was born Wednesday, May 27, 1925 in Jefferson County, Ill., the daughter of Albert Earl & Lillian Omega (Bean) Stewart. She married Charles Wilbur Lee on Nov. 30, 1941 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and he preceded her in death on April 27, 1988.
Funeral Service was held 10:00 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Ill. with Nathan Boldt officiating.
Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Interment was in South Hickory Hill Cemetery in Jefferson County.
She is survived by two daughters: Sandra Minton and husband James of Mount Vernon and Connie Lee of Mount Vernon; two grandchildren: Jeremy Minton and wife Kacey of Vienna and Jenna Minton-Smith of Mount Vernon.
Several Nieces and Nephews also survive along with a special foster great grandson.
Her parents, her husband, her son: Monty Stewart Lee, one brother: Darold Stewart and three sisters: Revanell Quinn, Margie Lomax and Norma McLaughlin preceded her in death
Sarah was a cook at Mount Vernon Township High School for 25 years, she volunteered at the soup kitchen feeding the needy, was a member of South Hickory Hill Church, the Senior Circle and the "Cleohatras" group of the Red Hat Society. She loved gardening, cooking, sewing and quilting
