Mary Marie Guthrie

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mary Marie Guthrie, age 87, of Pinckneyville, Ill., passed away on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009 at 12:20 p.m. at her home.

Marie was born on Feb. 17, 1922 in Pinckneyville, Ill., a daughter to Frank and Mabel (Sawyer) Edwards. On Dec. 9, 1941, she married Thomas Guthrie in Pinckneyville, Ill. and he preceded her in death on Aug. 20, 1998. Marie was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. and was actively involved in church activities including Church Women United. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and enjoyed her retirement with her husband in rural Oakdale.

Marie is survived by one son: David (Joyce) Guthrie of Oakdale, Ill., one daughter: Susan (Tony) Noce of Schaumburg, Ill., four grandchildren: Julie Gran'ena-Noce; husband: Marc and Tony Noce; wife: Vanessa and Nathan and Johanna Guthrie, one great- grand child: Anthony Noce and several dear nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Tom and two brothers: Robert and Donald Edwards.

Funeral services were held at First United Presbyterian Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Monday, Oct. 19, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Charles Walden and Reverend David Guthrie officiating. Interment was in Oakdale Cemetery, Oakdale, Ill.

Friends called at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and then at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
