Susan Lee Boswell
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Susan Lee Boswell, 48, of Herrin, passed away at 7:38 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009 at the St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis.
Susan had worked as a supervisor at Our Directions, Inc. at Herrin, which is a day training vocational center for people with developmental disabilities. She had worked there for eight years and was a very dedicated and hardworking employee. She will be sadly missed by all the people there. Susan was a good Mom and Nana and was the hub of the family that connected brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, parents, and grandparents.
She was born Oct. 24, 1960 at Du Quoin, Ill., the daughter of William and LaDonna (Midyett) Asa.
She is survived by four children - Amanda Holmes of Du Quoin, Julie Holmes and friend Mike Schneider of Christopher, Ill., Jason Holmes and friend Nikki Murphy of Springfield, Ill., and Brittany Fairbanks and friend Jared Kennedy of Herrin, Ill., one grandchild - Ella Faye Fairbanks of Herrin, Ill., seven brothers and sisters - William Asa of Alton, Ill., Kelly VanHowe of Chicago, Ill., Sandra Harris of Naperville, Ill., Patricia Messer of Naperville, Ill., Michael Asa of Carbondale, Ill., Patrick Asa of Carbondale, Ill., and Beth Williams of Du Quoin.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services were at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Mike Davis officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to Our Directions, Inc. Helen Honey's Extension and will be accepted at the funeral home.
