Alphonse L. Magers, 88

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Alphonse L. Magers, 88, of Ste. Genevieve, MO, formerly of Chester, IL, died September 28, 2009, at Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital in Ste. Genevieve.

The son of Louis and Trede Magers, he was born May 11, 1921 in Chester, IL.

Alphonse was a retired maintenance worker at the shoe factory. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ste. Genevieve and a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Eastern Star.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothea Magers of Ste. Genevieve, MO; one brother, Wilbert Magers; and one sister, Norma Walter. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Ronald.

It was Alphonse's wishes to be cremated. Graveside services were held Monday, October 5, 2009 at the Evergreen Cemetery, Chester, IL, with Rev. Junie Ewing & Lorraine Stange officiating.

Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Ste. Genevieve or the Ste. Genevieve Nutrition Center.
