James William Thomas

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[James William Thomas, 78, of Du Quoin, passed away at 1:45 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009 at his residence.

James had worked as a Class A Machinist at J.L. Clark Company Atlas Tubes Division. He was of the Methodist faith.

He was born June 29, 1931 at Lumber City, Ga., the son of John Mercer and Martie (Garnto) Thomas.

He married Joyce Ann Brookman on Oct. 18, 1958 at Chicago, Ill. and she survives.

He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, one son - Ronald James Thomas of Bartlett, IL, two sisters, and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services were at 10:00 a.m., Friday, Sept. 11, 2009 at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Du Quoin with Rev. Michael Ebersohl officiating.

Those attending the service were asked to go directly to the cemetery.

Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Du Quoin.
