</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Fern M. Schlimme, 87, of Sparta, IL, died September 4, 2009, at the Coulterville Care Center.

The daughter of Henry and Mary (McConachie) McIntyre, she was born January 3, 1922 in Sparta, IL.

On December 24, 1941, she married Louis Schlimme in St. Louis, MO, and he preceded her in death in 1975.

Fern had been employed at Spartan Light Metals, and she was a member of the Bethel Reformed Presbyterian Church in Sparta, IL.

Survivors include one daughter, Helen (Jim) Tritt of Henderson, AR; three sons-Ron (Mary) Schlimme, Bill (Sheryl) Schlimme, and Warren (Sharon) Schlimme, all of Sparta, IL; eight grandchildren-Rhonda Pullmann, Chuck Glasscock, Quentin Glasscock, John Schlimme, Jason Schlimme, Ronda Schlimme, Billy Schlimme, and Heather McIntyre; six step-grandchildren: Mickey Curry, Ruth Mason, Mary Gardner, Michelle Kelkhoff, Brian Hall, and Courtney Hall; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three brothers; two sisters; one infant sister; and one great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Bethel Reformed Presbyterian Church in Sparta, IL, with Rev. Bob Ellis officiating. Burial will be in the Caledonia Cemetery in Sparta.

Memorials may be given to the Bethel Reformed Presbyterian Church in Sparta or to the Alzheimer's Association.
