Bernitta M. Barber

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Bernitta M. Barber, 82, of Du Quoin, passed away at 9:03 p.m., Friday, Aug. 14, 2009 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.

Bernitta was a homemaker. She was of the Catholic faith.

She was born July 14, 1927 at Dowell, Ill. the daughter of Charles and Margaret (Routz) Ceto.

Bernitta married Jack D. Barber on June 25, 1947 at Murphysboro, Ill. and he passed away January 8, 2001.

She is survived by a son - John D. Barber and wife Connie of Du Quoin, two granddaughters- Farrah Runge and husband Aaron of Chester and Larissa Barber of Du Quoin, two great grandchildren- Avery Runge and Aden Runge.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers- Charles Ceto and John Ceto.

Funeral services were at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2009 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Fr. Tom Stout officiating.

Friends were able to call from 9 to 11 a.m., Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home.

Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the Fair View Nursing Center Activity Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home.
