Bert W. Barnett

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Bert W. Barnett, 53, of Du Quoin, passed away at 8:30 p.m., Monday, July 27, 2009 at the Fair Acres Nursing Home in Du Quoin.

Bert had been an over-the-road truck driver. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a member of the NRA and North American Hunt Club.

He was born December 16, 1955 at Middlesboro, Ky., the son of Bascum T. and Nellie B. (Partin) Barnett.

He married Kellie A. Reuber on November 13, 1992 at East Pointe, Mich., and she survives.

He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, four sons - Kevin Witt of Pennsylvania, Fred Witt of Michigan, Gregory Hewitt of Michigan, and Bert W. Barnett, Jr. of Du Quoin, four grandchildren - Kayla Witt, Anthony Witt, Jessie Houston, and Bert W. Barnett III, three brothers - Donald A. Barnett, Sr. of Du Quoin, William Kenneth Barnett of Michigan, and Robert E. Barnett of Pittsburgh, Ill., and one sister - Christine Riggin of Michigan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and seven brothers and sisters.

Per Mr. Barnett's request, cremation services were held.

There will be no public visitation or funeral.
