Funeral services were held Monday, July 20, 2009 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Steeleville, IL with Rev. Dr. Alan W. Janneke and Seminary student, Kory Janneke officiating. Burial was in the Paradise Cemetery in Steeleville.

Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Foundation, St. Mark's Lutheran Church, or a Trust Fund for his baby.
