Fred McGuire, 71

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Fred McGuire, 71, died June 4, 2009.

The son of William and Willadean McGuire, he was born May 10, 1938.

Fred was a retired naval chief of submarine service. He spent many years serving the community as a dedicated Mason, Shriner, member of the BPOE, VFW, Moose Lodge, and was an active member of the Subvets. He also enjoyed traveling with his RV group.

Survivors include his wife, Doreen (Pelkey) McGuire; his mother, Willadean McGuire; three children-Beth McGuire (Bob Martin), Mick McGuire (Cheryl McGuire), and Carol McGuire Gidus (Jim Gidus); 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 25, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Chester, IL, with Pastor Gary Mossiman officiating. Burial will be in the Sparta Caledonia Cemetery.
