"Does Arnie really need to be PC?"
The economic crisis is not just here in Illinois, it spans coast to coast. Everyone has their own solutions and thoughts on the problem.
California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's answer happens to be in the shape of a two foot knife.
Well, maybe a foot long blade and a foot long handle. It's hard to tell.
The knife appears at the start of twitter video the governor posted in which he thanks the California residents for their input on interesting ways to raise money.
The idea the governor brings up in the video was for him to sign state vehicles before they were sold in an attempt to get more for them.
Cheap, fast and effective. It works.
But what a lot of media seemed to jump on was the fact that he was holding a knife.
I wasn't any different. When I heard about it I actually jumped right on Google and looked for the video. But I didn't do it out of shock or disgust like a lot of politicians seem to be doing. I did it out of interest and fun.
With everyone tossing around the phrase "budget cuts" it was inevitable that someone would make the joke. In fact I don't doubt that thousands of others have already made it. So how can the media demand that the governor defend himself against such an action?
Do these people know who they are dealing with? He's the Schwarzenegger. I can't count how many humans, aliens or robots he has personally dispatched with an array or weaponry including shotguns, swords, knifes and his own hands.
For the action-star-turned-governor, I can't help but feel sorry for him when the media jumps on him. He's still Arnold Schwarzenegger. His acting career didn't disappear when he became governor. And neither did his sense of humor, thankfully.
I salute you Arnie! You've been in several talks personally to work on the California budget, personally listened to the people and personally delivered a response. I intend to keep my eye out for the state's "Arnie Cars" to go up for sale.
If only we here in Illinois had our own celebrity governor to make a little extra cash on. Do you think Blagojevich would be interested in some sort of similar agreement?
