Virginia Lee Green

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Virginia Lee Green, 83, of Du Quoin, passed away at 12:49 a.m., Saturday, July 11, 2009 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.

Virginia had worked as a secretary at the Du Quoin Highschool and the First Christian Church in Du Quoin.

Virginia retired after twenty-two years of service at the Du Quoin National Bank as assistant Vice President.

She was a member of the First Christian Church in Du Quoin and the church women's fellowship.

She was born June 10, 1926 at Crainville, the daughter of William Roy and Mary Susan (Farmer) Vaughn.

Virginia married Robert Green on November 14, 1952 at the Methodist Church in Du Quoin and he survives.

She is survived by her husband of Du Quoin, two sons- Norman Green and John Green, both of Du Quoin, daughter- Mary Jane Hawkins of Du Quoin, brother- Richard Vaughn of Pinckneyville, two grandchildren- Susan Mary Jones of St. Louis, Mo. and Jenny Green of Du Quoin, two great grandchildren- Madeline Green and April Renee Green of Du Quoin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother- Virgil Vaughn, and sister- Betty Green.

Private family graveside services will be held at the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin with Pastor Russell Ragovin officiating.

Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the First Christian Church of Du Quoin and will be accepted at the funeral home.
