Emaline Anna Kern

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Emaline Anna Kern, 92, of Du Quoin, passed away at 3:04 a.m., Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.

Emaline had worked as a seamstress at Bridal Originals. She was a member of the Faith Assembly of God Church in Du Quoin.

She was born December 1, 1916 at Du Quoin, the daughter of Earl and Hazel (Norris) Hahn.

She married Albert Bernard Kern in January of 1948 at Du Quoin, and he preceded her in death in July of 1991.

She is survived by three children - Wanda Thorpe and husband Darrell of Du Quoin, Patty Maynor and husband Mike of Auburn, and Jonathon Lee Hahn and wife Helen of Washington, one sister - June Huelsmann and husband Bernard of Pinckneyville, one brother - Raymond Darrell and wife Irene of Compton, N.H., five grandchildren - Barry Maynor and wife Cori of Du Quoin, Shannon Stott of Williamsville, Mark Goodwin and wife Karla of Shelbyville, Danny Goodwin of Shelbyville, and Jamie Goodwin of Du Quoin, ten great grandchildren, and seven great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son - Buddy Kern in 1970, two brothers - Carroll Gene Hahn and Millard Hahn, and one sister - Marjorie Hunter.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 9, 2009 at the Sacred Heart Cemetery at Du Quoin.

Those attending the service are asked to go directly to the cemetery.

Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery at Du Quoin.

In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorials to the Fair Acres Nursing Home and will be accepted at the funeral home.
