James A. Bowlin

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ James A. Bowlin, 77, of Du Bois, passed away at 8:44 a.m., Friday, June 5, 2009 at his residence.

James had been the owner and operator of Travelers Restaurant in Du Bois for 20 years. He also retired from the U.S. Air Force as a major after 20 years of service and had also served in the Vietnam war. He was a member of the Elks and American Legion and was also an avid bridge player and golf player at the Red Hawk Country Club.

He was born January 28, 1932 at Christopher, the son of Norf and Peggy (Napier) Bowlin.

He married Carole A. VanSickle on January 10, 1959 at Ridgeland, South Carolina and she survives.

He is survived by his wife, three daughters-Kellee and Jim Justice of Du Quoin, Hollee and Scott Sachtleben of Belleville, Stacee and Neal Luckett of Marion, seven grandchildren-Jarrod and Jordee Justice, Kelcee, Kylee, and Sydnee Sachtleben, and Cody and Kegan Luckett, brother-Bob Bowlin of Florida and sister-Billie Allen of Du Quoin.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m., Monday, June 8, 2009 at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.
