June A. McCowen

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ June A. McCowen, 63, of Du Bois, passed away at 7:00 A.M., Saturday, April 25, 2009 at the Friendship Manor Health Care Center in Nashville, IL.

June had worked as a secretary at the Tamaroa High School and Southern Illinois Drug Task Force at Mt. Vernon. She was of the Catholic faith.

She was born April 7, 1946 at Du Quoin, IL, the daughter of Robert and Madge (Scronce) Taylor.

She married Gene Nowakowski. She then married Gene McCowen. They both preceded her in death.

She is survived by two sons - Michael Nowakowski of Douglas, WY and Brian Nowakowski of Warrenton, MO, one grandson - Kyle Nowakowski of Wentzville, MO, and one half sister - Kathy Stranton of Du Quoin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, two brothers - Bobby Taylor and Jerry Ray Taylor and her grandma - Anna Pitman.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa with Fr. Brian Barker officiating.

Friends may call from 9 A.M. until the time of service on Wednesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.

Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery at Tamaroa.
