Ruby Jacoby

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Ruby Jacoby, 86, of Decatur, passed away April 21, 2009, at McKinley Court Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, April 24, 2009, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, April 23, at the funeral home. Burial will be Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.

Ruby was born April 6, 1923, in Marissa, the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Clark) Holman. She married Arthur A. Jacoby, Sr. on April 12, 1938, in Perryville, Mo., and just celebrated 71 years of marriage.

Ruby formerly worked as a cafeteria manager for Decatur Public Schools. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, American Legion Auxiliary, and was former President of LaFemmes. Ruby enjoyed oil painting.

Ruby is survived by her husband Arthur of Decatur; son Arthur Jacoby, Jr. and wife Marsha of Decatur; daughter Barbara Jones of San Francisco, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and sisters Florence Miller of Cutler, and Cleo Ellis of Danville.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Carolyn Jean McDermith; four brothers; and five sisters.
