Jack L. Lintner
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Jack L. Lintner, Sr., 73, of Murphysboro, passed away at 9:15 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2009, at his home in Murphysboro.
Jack was born June 18, 1935, in Cutler, the son of Fred A. Lintner and Elsie (Keene) Lintner. He married Norma Jean McMillian on January 17, 1955 in Corinth, Mississippi. Jack was retired from Arch Coal. He was a member of the UMWA Local 1392; a 45 year member of Alma Lodge #497 & A.M. of Steelville; Scottish Rite Bodies in the Valley of Southern Illinois; Ainad Shrine in East St. Louis. He was of the Lutheran Faith.
Jack enjoyed spending time with his two precious granddaughters, working with Chip his bird dog, spending time outdoors, and visiting family and friends. For many years, he was a National Shoot and Retrieve Field Trial Judge. Jack never met a stranger. He was named an Illinois Department of Natural Resources Volunteer of the Year in 2003 for his work at Pyramid State Park. Recently, he was honored to have a trial field named for him at the park which was commemorated by an engraved bench.
He is survived by his wife Norma Jean Lintner of Murphysboro; daughter, Cheryl Reinhardt, and husband, Larry of Murphysboro; son, Jack Lintner, Jr., of Murphysboro; granddaughters, Amanda Reinhardt of O'Fallon, and Alyssa Reinhardt of Murphysboro; sister-in-law, Rose Richardson and husband Gene of Belleville; brother-in-law, Robert McMillian and wife Ila of Belleville; faithful companion and best friend, Chip; nieces, nephews and friends including Sparty Lee; and lifelong friend, John Rednour, Sr.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 20, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville with Rev. Ivan Ryan officiating. Burial followed at Cutler Cemetery in Cutler. Visitation was held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steelville, on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m., with Masonic rites held at 8 p.m. under auspices of Alma Lodge #497, A.F. & A.M. and visitation was also on Monday from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association or VNA TIP Hospice.
