Norma Jean Nordwind
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Norma Jean Nordwind, nee Davis, born October 18, 1928, in Edwardsville, Ill., a West Chicago resident formerly of Saint Charles, Glen Ellyn and Chicago passed away peacefully April 2, 2009 at the age of 80.
Her life was devoted to her family and friends. She was the loving mother of Dorene (Dennis) Gilyard, Carole (Jackie) Akers and Burton "Ed" (Andra) Nordwind; devoted grandmother of Kenneth (Erin) Akers and Sean (Ashley) Akers, Rebecca Nordwind, Brigitta Nordwind, and loving great-grandmother of Ylda Marie, Alyxandra, Conner, Kristopher, Tyler, Ryleigh and Jacqulyn and Andrew Akers, Andrew Nordwind and Nathaniel Nordwind-Caraballo and step great-granddaughter Kameron; loving aunt of William and Christian Davis. She is also survived by several cousins in Du Quoin where, before moving to Chicago, she spent much of her youth with her beloved grandmother Christy Stanhouse.
She was a former employee of Harris Bank of St. Charles and a Waubonsee alumni.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl B. and Mabel B. Davis, nee Stanhouse; six aunts and uncles; a brother Earl; and her beloved German shepherds.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 12:30 p.m. at Yurs Funeral Home in Saint Charles followed by a graveside service at Fairview Cemetery in DeKalb, Ill.
