Maxine Zetel Taylor

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Maxine Zetel Taylor, 91, of Rushville, formerly of the Tamaroa area, passed away at 6:50 a.m., Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at the Snyder-Vaughn Haven Nursing Home in Rushville.

Maxine had been a teacher. She had worked for forty-three years in the Astoria and Rushville school systems. She was a member of the Christian Church of Astoria and Rushville. She was also a member of Teachers Retirement of Illinois.

She was born July 5, 1918 at Tamaroa, the daughter of George Franklin and Ora Lea (Cockrum) Ragland.

She married Nelson B. Taylor on November 17, 1940 at Perry County, and he preceded her in death on April 29, 2005.

She is survived by one daughter - Marsha Gift and husband Joe of Washington, one son - Larry Taylor and wife Nancy of Glasford, one grandson - Jason Edwards of Glasford, one great granddaughter - Alexandria Edwards of Glasford, one sister - Imogene Ragland Anderson of Springfield, two brothers - Charles Ragland and wife Mary of Tamaroa and George Dale Ragland and wife Jean of Tamaroa, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sisters - Elaine Noward and Verdene Ragland.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 28, 2009 at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa with Rev. John Hollis officiating.

Friends may call from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.

Burial will be in the Paradise Cemetery at Tamaroa.

Friends may make memorials to the Paradise Cemetery and will be accepted at the funeral home.
