</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Lorraine Weiss, 82, of Avon Park, Florida passed away Wednesday, Feb. 25 2009 at Highlands Regional Medical Center in Sebring Florida.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Monday, March 2, 2009 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Harold Fleshman and Reverend Dr. Victor Long officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Alto Pass Cemetery, with a graveside service at 3:00 PM. She was born Sept. 24, 1926 in Alto Pass, the daughter of Rolla and Eula (Bridgeman) Wilson. She married the Reverend R. James Weiss on Feb. 27, 1947 in Kane, Illinois.
She is survived by her husband and six children and their spouses: Dana and Richard Jumper of Flanagan, Illinois, Jan and Kevin Pell of Linden, West Virginia, Nancy Weiss-Hayes and Pete Hayes of Godfrey, Robin and David Galloway of Junction, Illinois, Andrea and Clay Bradley of Marion, Illinois and Jim and Maryann Weiss of Kirkwood, Missouri; twelve grandchildren: Neill Weinberg, Charity Weinberg, Ryan Galloway, Justin Hayes, Carrie Dhaese, Ashley Hayes, Robert Bradley, Callie Pell, Caitlin Pell, Shelby Weiss, Caleb Pell and Paul Galloway; five great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Wilma Fleshman and the Reverend Harold Fleshman of Aurora, Colorado; two nieces, Jane Owen and her husband Randy of Clever, Missouri and Janelle Conlin and her husband Michael of Fayetteville, North Carolina; a nephew, Bill Weiss and his wife Mary of Baltimore, Maryland, brother-in-law, the Reverend Gerald Weiss and his wife Stephanie of Catonsville, Maryland; and sister-in-law Martha Weiss of Florissant. Missouri.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Delores Wilson, a brother, Rolla Wilson Jr., twin infant grandsons and a niece.
She and her husband earned the love and respect of hundreds of parishioners during his many years as a pastor at United Methodist congregations in Southern and Central Illinois and at Sun Ray United Methodist Church in Frostproof, Florida, where Reverend Weiss serves as pastor. They were a team, caring for the members of their churches. She often played piano for church services and the two always walked out together, hand-in-hand, to greet church-goers following a service.
Lorraine will be especially missed by her family, her children and grandchildren. A loving mom and grandma, she made their lives special and was always there with a hug, a caring word, a special baked treat or an opinion.
