Julie Ann McMurray-Paz

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Julie Ann McMurray-Paz of Garner, N.C. passed away February 9, 2009 after a long illness.

She is survived by her husband, John Paz, who shared a loving relationship with Julie for 9 years. Also surviving Julie are her mother Carol Cook; her father and stepmother, Russell and Victoria McMurray; sister, Rebecca McMurray; brother, Brian McMurray and his wife Nicole; brother, Scott McMurray and sister, Nancy Gulley and John; nieces, Alexis McMurray, Audrey and Claire Gulley; nephew, Josh McMurray; and cousin, Michelle McMurray de Luces. Julie also brightened the lives of long-time friends, Bethany McConville, Bruce and Terry McClain, Rick and Amy McConville, Kevin and Amanda Stroud, and Bob and Kathy Martin.

She was a wonderful godmother to Megan and Cole McConville, and spread her great love to include Conner McClain and Ryan Hart and Aiden Stroud and Jaqueline Poole. Julie was also very close with her uncle and aunt, Charlie and Brenda Schott, aunt, Patty Dalton and cousins, Sarah and Billy Schott. She was especially fond of her late stepfather, Charlie Cook and helped to take care of him in his last years. She also brightened every day of John's late mother, Dorothy Paz during her recovery from heart surgery. She adored her dog, Wrigley and played with him up to her last days.

Julie graduated from Du Quoin High School in 1986 and attended Patricia Stevens Career College in St. Louis, graduated 1987.

Julie moved to North Carolina in 1997. She excelled at everything she did and her career path eventually led her to The Balanced Scorecard Institute in Cary, N.C., where she was Vice President of Administration. She was very happy in her work and had an excellent relationship with the entire staff, especially company owner Howard Rohm and his wife Peggy.

Julie loved the Chicago Cubs almost as much as she loved her friends and family. She also loved to get together with friends often and always brightened any gathering. Julie was very warm and generous and remained positive throughout her illness. She will be extremely missed.

Visitation will be held on Friday February 13th , from 7 to 9 p.m., at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home 831 Wake Forest Rd. Raleigh, NC.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 14th , at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Raleigh.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Diabetes Association or the Humane Society.
