Violet E. Hodge

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Violet E. Hodge, 88, of Du Quoin, passed away at 3:20 a.m., Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at the Fair View Nursing Center in Du Quoin.

Violet had worked as a cook at the Maid Rite Caf&#200; for fourteen years. She was of the Pentecostal faith.

She was born May 7, 1920 at Sand Ridge, the daughter of Charles Harrison and Elizabeth (Gulley) Griffin.

She first married Jesse See in 1950, she then married Hiley Hodge in 1970 in Perry County and he preceded her in death.

She is survived by two children- Charles Dale See and wife Betty Lou of Du Quoin and Nora Johnetta See of Du Quoin, sister- Goldie Quillman of Du Quoin, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, three brothers- Charles (Buster) Griffin, Joe Griffin, Fount Griffin, sister- Elizabeth Griffin.

Funeral services will be at Noon, Friday, February 6, 2009 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. C. L. McKinnies officiating.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to the time of service Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the Eagles Christmas for Children Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home.
