Accidents
On 1-06-09 Elizabeth L. Thompson, 26, was involved in an accident at Michael Rd. & Zeigler Rd.
Thompson was southbound on Michael Rd. ½ mile north of Zeigler Mine Rd. when her vehicle exited the right side of the road. She then over-corrected and crossed the road, running off the left side of the road. Then her vehicle struck a utility pole and overturned, coming to rest in a ditch on the east side of the road.
She was taken to St. John's Mercy Hospital by Arch Helicopter.
On 1-07-09 Dakota R. Buskirk, 18, of Red Bud, IL, was involved in an accident at Ohlwine Rd. & First Rd.
Buskirk was eastbound on Ohlwine Rd. ½ mile east of First Rd. when her vehicle exited the right side of the road, struck an embankment and overturned.
She was taken to Red Bud Hospital by MedStar Ambulance.
Buskirk was issued a ticket for Driving Too Fast for Conditions.
