Wilbert W. Adams, 95

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Wilbert W. Adams, 95, devoted husband, father and grandfather of Okemos, Michigan, died January 1, 2009 at Burcham Hills Health Center in East Lansing Michigan.

Born September 4, 1913 in Chester, he was the son of the late Elmo and Clara Adams.

He was married to Walda C. Adams on June 13, 1937, and she preceded him in death in October 2006.

Wilbert was owner of the Adams Mens Store in Chester from 1940 to 1955, and thereafter was a Sales Representative based in Michigan with J. Capps and Sons, Ltd. of Jacksonville, Illinois. After retirement, he and his wife operated The Village Shoppe in Okemos, Michigan for many years. While living in Chester, he served for many years on the School Board and as a member of the Lions Club. He was then a member of St. John Lutheran Church, and later of Ascension Lutheran Church in East Lansing.

Survivors include one son, Dale Adams, of DuBois, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Karen Gotting, of Ann Arbor, Michigan; a first cousin with whom he grew up, Orville Benson, of Sparta; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery, Okemos, Michigan.
