</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Barney Edward Byram, 80, of Chester, IL, died January 1, 2009, at Memorial Hospital in Chester.

The son of Herman and Veleda (Carr) Byram, he was born July 8, 1928, in Chester, IL.

On August 14, 1948, he married Goldie Mae Novack in Chester, and she preceded him in death in 1999.

Barney was a retired truck driver. He was a member of the Chester Moose #1764, the Chester Eagles Aerie #3252 and the Teamsters Local.

Survivors include two sons-Richard Byram of Chester, IL and Gerald "Jerry" Byram & Mary McCloud of Carbondale, IL; three daughters-Judy & Terry Moreman of Danville, IL, Viola Jean & Larry Salger of Evansville, IL, and June Byram of Chester, IL; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; nephews, nieces & friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one son, Barney Byram Jr.; two brothers; and one sister.

Funeral services were held Friday, January 2, 2009, at Pechacek-McClure Funeral Home, Chester, IL with Rev. Phil Keeton officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Chester.
