State Police Building Stopped for Non-Payment
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ A Murphysboro contractor building the new $2.3 million shooting range at the District 13 state police command in Du Quoin has stopped work on the project for non-payment.
Fager McGee Construction Co. of Murphysboro and its subcontractors have cleaned up the site and sealed the unfinished front doors after failing to receive scheduled payments on the Illinois Capital Development Board project.
The training and preparation building is pictured adjacent to the shooting lanes. The state of the art complex was scheduled for completion in March. The state's failure to meet payments is all over.
The Illinois Department of Corrections owes the City of Pinckneyville over $200,000 for utility services over the past several months and the vendor that provides food services to the Pinckneyville prison has reportedly threatened to stop those services for non-payment.
