Ruth Sanders Barnett

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Ruth Sanders Barnett, 85, of Elkville, passed away at 3:15 p.m., Monday, December 15, 2008 at the St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro.

Ruth was a homemaker. She had worked in food services and was Past President of the Colorado/Wyoming Food Association. She was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Du Quoin.

She was born July 20, 1923 at Elkville, the daughter of Austin and Mae (Hereford) Perryman.

She married Ralph E. Sanders on October 1, 1939 at Elkville and he preceded her in death on January 5, 1992. She then married Norman H. Barnett on November 20, 1999 at Du Quoin and he survives.

She is survived by her husband of Elkville, two daughters - Naomi Bjork and husband Gary of Catoosa, Okla., and Linda Sims and husband Bobby J. of Aiken, S.C., eleven grandchildren, and twenty-five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, one son - Ronnie Dale Sanders, four brothers - Lester Perryman, Lowern Perryman, John Perryman, and Jim Perryman, and three sisters - Ida Gossett, Lu Dean Walker, and Lorene Huggins.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, December 19, at the First United Pentecostal Church in Du Quoin with Rev. Dan McKinnies and Rev. C.L. McKinnies officiating.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin and from 1 p.m. until the time of service on Friday at the church.

Burial will be in the Elkville Cemetery at Elkville.

Friends may make memorials to the Jackson County Rehab and Care Center and will be accepted at the funeral home.
