Steeleville Warriors Shooting team participate in shoot meet
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[On Saturday, Nov. 8, the Steeleville Warriors Shooting team participated in the monthly shoot meet at the World Shooting Complex. All the Steeleville Shooters were D class shooters. The exception was Craig Johnson who was designated C class. Seth Troue, a first year shooter, took 2nd place in the D class. 87% of the birds he shot at were knocked down. The rest of the team did not place. However, all shot well.
AJ Smith shot 59% of the birds on target. Craig Johnson Shot 82%. Phil Roscow popped 61% of the clays. Keith Hamilton blew away for 79%. Jeff Brockmeyer put 63% on the score sheet. Bradley Fondow knocked down with 79%. To round off the score sheet, was Corrie Reel with 69% birds down.
"Craig and Seth are the guys who made the most improvement [this year]," said Head Coach Brian Smith.
Among those not present at this match were: Dustin Theobald, Weston Quivey, Trevor Gordon, and Kyle Hill. Theobald and Quivey are seniors this year. Theobald shoot 91% while Quincy shot 93%. Smith said, "They are good shooters. We are going to miss them."
Looking forward to next year, Smith said, "We are looking for current members to improve on this years performance. I am looking to bring the kids we have, up. We are also looking to get some new recruits."
Smith also added, "I would like to thank all of the students who came to practice and the meets. I would also like to thank there parents for getting them there and helping with the fund raiser. We would like to thank Dave's supermarket for allowing us to have our fund-raiser at his store this help to pay for our meets and practice. We would also like to thank the Steeleville High School for allowing the students to take part in this sport. I would also like to thank Brooks Gordon, Mark Troue, Mike Hathaway, and Bob Hatcher for helping coach. Bob was the head coach who kept this thing going, and all of us would like to thank him and his wife Joann for all the time they put into this. These two went above and beyond the call of duty. May God bless both of you in all that you do. Thanks again for a great year and we look forward to next year. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!"
