Phyllis Brand

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Phyllis Brand, age 85 of Pinckneyville, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at 7:50 a.m. in Pinckneyville Health Care Center, Pinckneyville.

Phyllis was born on July 18, 1923 in St. Maries, Idaho, a daughter to Austin E. and Florence E. (Schneider) Jones. On December 31, 1942, she married James D. Brand in Pinckneyville at St. Bruno Catholic Church Rectory and he preceded her in death on April 9, 2008. Phyllis was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church and worked at Forest City Manufacturing for 18 years and then at the Pinckneyville Medical Clinic for 9 years. She enjoyed bingo and fishing.

Survivors include her son; Bob (Janet) Brand of Pinckneyville, a daughter; Judy (Sam) Opp of Pinckneyville, a brother; Edward (Sara) Jones of Pinckneyville, three grandchildren; Lora Sutton, Bobbi Brand, Joshua (Melissa) Brand and six great-grandchildren.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, on Saturday, December 13, at 10 a.m. with Father Brian Barker officiating. Interment will be in St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery, Pinckneyville.

Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, on Friday, December 12, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.

Rosary will be recited on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Bruno Catholic School or American Heart Association.
