Rowie Ellen Craig

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Rowie Ellen Craig, age 81, of Benton, IL passed away at her residence at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, October 27, 2008.

Rowie was born on August 6, 1927 in Du Quoin, IL, a daughter to Roy and Ruby (Rice) Keller Phillips. On December 11, 1944 she married Bill Craig in Du Quoin, IL, and he preceded her in death on August 28, 2006. Rowie was a CNA for the Franklin Co. Hospital and a homemaker. She was a member of the 1st Apostolic Church, West Frankfort, IL and loved sewing, reading, drawing and gardening.

She is survived by eight children: Carolyn Joann Emery of West Frankfort, IL, Rosalie Craig (special friend: Marcus Munoz) of Benton, IL, Marjorie Ellen (Charlie) Brown of Mt. Vernon, IN, Shirley Jean (Carl) Murray of Orient, IL, Juanita (Charles) Bowers of Detroit, MI, Mary Alice (Walter Frank) Ridgeway of Du Quoin, IL, Donald Ray (Joann) Phillips of Du Quoin, IL, and Bill (Joyce) Craig, Jr. of Du Quoin, IL, two brothers: Ray (Dorothy) Phillips of TN, and David (Mary Jane) Phillips of TN, two sisters: Mary Lou Brayfield of Benton, IL , and Pauline Phillips of South, IL, five special friends: Charlotte Farley, Missy Allois, Dale Holman, Jack Johnson, all of West Frankfort, and Dr. S. Khan of Benton, IL and numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son: John Logan Craig, two grandsons: John Ray and Billy Dale Craig, two brothers: William Samuel Phillips and James Lester Phillips, and an infant sister: Hilda Marie Phillips.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 2:00 pm at Pyatt Funeral Home, Du Quoin, IL. Interment will be held at the Cudgetown Cemetery, Du Quoin, IL.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 pm at Pyatt Funeral Home, Du Quoin, IL.
