Nadine K. Kern
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Nadine Kelley Kern, 78, of Du Quoin, passed away at 1 a.m., Tuesday, October 21, 2008, at the Washington County Hospital in Nashville.
Nadine was a devoted mother and homemaker who loved cooking and baking. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Du Quoin. She was raised in Cisne, and lived in that area for many years. She had been a resident of Friendship Manor in Nashville, for the past eighteen months.
She was born May 22, 1930, at Mt. Carmel, the daughter of John Ambrose and Della (Dunlap) Kelley.
She married Charles W. Jones. She then married William F. Kern on June 26, 1972, at Murphysboro, and he preceded her in death on December 5, 1979. Nadine had resided in Du Quoin since the time of her marriage to William Kern.
She is survived by two sons - Kevin Kern of Du Quoin and Wade Jones of Eldorado, one daughter - GinÌ Olesky and husband Steven of Franklin, Tenn., two grandchildren - Leigha Ramos and husband Eden of Ashland City, Tenn., and Lewis Blades of Ashland City, Tenn., one sister - Evelyn Milner and husband Duey of Springfield, Mo., one brother - Ernest Kelley and wife Trudy of Crescent, Okla., two sisters-in-law - Margaret Kern and Emaline Kern, both of Du Quoin, and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter - Theresa Ann Jones, brother - Byron Lee Kelley and an infant brother - James Leonard Kelley.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 24, at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Dr. John Lewis officiating.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery at Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to the American Heart Association or the Du Quoin Public Library and will be accepted at the funeral home.
