Mary D. Kuhnert

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Mary Dean Kuhnert, 77, of Tamaroa, passed away at 6:44 a.m., Sunday, October 19, 2008, at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.

Mary was a homemaker and had worked as a presser at the Du Quoin and Pinckneyville Garment Factory. She was a member of the Paradise Baptist Church in Tamaroa and a member of the Silver Threads.

She was born September 23, 1931 at Thompsonville, the daughter of Roman and Hazel (Hall) Waller.

She married Carl R. Kuhnert on July 16, 1950, at Corning, Ariz., and he preceded her in death on October 10, 2008.

She is survived by two sons - Carl D. Kuhnert and wife Karla and Charles R. Kuhnert and Jennifer Reel, all of Du Quoin, four grandchildren - Suella, Amanda, Joshua, and Rachel, two step grandchildren - Michelle and Morgan, fourteen great grandchildren, two sisters - Martha Dean of Du Quoin and Wanda Preston of Bradley, and two brothers - James Waller and Tommy Waller, both of Du Quoin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter - Sandra Babcock, two brothers - Kenneth Waller and Bill Waller, and three sisters - Roma Struck, Maxine Yancey, and Lorene Bernhard.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Shaw DeMent officiating.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the American Heart Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
