Carl R. Kuhnert

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Carl Richard Kuhnert, 83, of Tamaroa, passed away Friday afternoon, October 10, 2008 at the Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

Carl had been a truck driver, oiler and dozer operator for United Electric Coal Mine at Du Quoin for eighteen years. He was also a farmer. He was a member of the Paradise Baptist Church at Tamaroa, Perry County Farm Bureau and a member of the UMWofA.

He was born October 31, 1924 at Pinckneyville, the son of Charles and Elta (Todd) Kuhnert.

Carl married Mary Waller on July 16, 1950 at Corning, Ark., and she survives.

He is survived by his wife of Tamaroa, two sons- Carl D. Kuhnert and wife Karla of Du Quoin and Charles R. Kuhnert and Jennifer Reel of Du Quoin, brother- Ronald Kuhnert and wife Diana of Tamaroa, five sisters- Charlene Marlow and husband Roger of Du Quoin, Joy Donahue and husband Curtis of St. Louis, Patsy McGhee and husband James of West Frankfort, Eileen Hill and husband Arlen of Pinckneyville, Gloria Jones and husband Mark of Tamaroa, four grandchildren- Suella, Amanda, Joshua and Rachel, fourteen great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter- Sandra Babcock and brother- Paul Kuhnert.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 15, at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Shaw DeMent officiating.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the American Heart Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
