No Arrests in Carbondale Bank Robbery
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ At about 9:50 a.m. Thursday, Carbondale police received a robbery alarm at the First Southern Bank branch located at 2500 W. Murphysboro Road. Two male suspects entered the bank, one of the suspects, armed with a handgun, held the bank employees at gun point while the other suspect took an undetermined amount of money from the cash drawers.
The suspects left the bank on a motorcycle. There were no injuries. No customers were in the bank at the time of the incident. Police are currently interviewing witnesses for additional information and processing the scene for evidence .
The suspects are described as:
1. White male, medium build, black full face motorcycle helmet with flip down shield, hunter green hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, black gloves.
2. White male, meduim build; silver, full face motorcycle helmet with flip down face shield, beige Carhart style jacket, black pants with cargo pockets, blue gloves.
Both suspects had backpacks with them. The handgun is described as a black, semi-automatic.
The suspects left the bank on a red and black mixed sport style motorcycle and headed westbound on Old Murphysboro Rd. They turned south on Tower Road and were last seen traveling at a high rate of speed westbound on Chautauqua Road.
