Families Line the Block for Free Food

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Nearly 200 families lined the block near George Culley's Least of the Brethren Church Tuesday afternoon while volunteers stood next to the building preparing to hand out food to families in need in a drive-thru style type of loading.

With food donations from the St. Louis Area Foodbank and volunteers from the entire area, families were given loads of food worth about $100 each. There were $30,000 worth of goods ready for hand out.

Several vehicles were clearly part of a carpool as multiple families would climb out to help load the items. It was a full two hours of loading vehicles before everyone had been served. Remaining items were stored in the church for later hand out.
