</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Michael Lewis Brown, age 62, of Mounds, formerly of Ullin, died at 7:45 a.m., Monday, September 29, 2008 in Mounds.

He was born on December 20, 1945 in Cairo, to Norse and Oleta (Slusher) Brown.

He was a mechanic for many years. He served his country honorably in the Army National Guard for 14 years.

He is survived by 2 daughters, Beth (Jerald "Boobie") Windings of Villa Ridge and Myndi (Randy) Duke of Ullin; 6 grandchildren, Heather (Adam) Crecelius, Tiffany Hunt, Jacob Windings, Hunter, Aaron and Hannah Duke; 1 great grandchild, Alex Crecelius; his mother, Oleta Brown of Ullin; 1 brother, Mark (Debbie) Brown of Villa Ridge; 2 sisters, Connie (Robert) Pair of DuQuoin and Loretta (Leon) Dunaway of Ullin; special friend, Flossie Jones of Mounds; nephews, great nieces and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father and 1 nephew, Dennis Sexton.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at Crain Funeral Home in Ullin with Rev. John Windings and Rev. Clint Nale officiating. Interment will be in Butter Ridge Cemetery with military honors by a ritual team comprised of area veterans groups sponsored by the Pulaski County Post 8891, VFW.

Visitation will held from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at Crain Funeral Home in Ullin.
