Katherine Bray Earns All-SIRR Honors

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Pinckneyville Community High School Girls Golfer Katherine Bray notched River-to-River All-Conference honors Tuesday, finishing third individually in the Mississippi Division championships.

Bray shot 93, five shots behind Mississippi champion Kristian Bayless of Sparta.

As a team, PCHS (404) placed third behind Sparta (395) and Nashville (403).

Anna-Jonesboro was next at 425.

Chester and Du Quoin didn't field teams.

"We came close but needed better scoring up and down the lineup to take the top spot," PCHS coach Dennis Kania said.

Morgan Heisner (101), Leah Eisenhauer (103), Kelsey Cicardi (108), Allie Kuhnert (109) and Holly Peper (134) also competed for PCHS.

BOYS GOLF IMPRESSIVE

PCHS put together its best effort of the boys season Tuesday with a sparkling 150 at Red Hawk, improving to 17-5.

The Panthers were ultra-impressive in winning over Carterville (162), Carbondale (165) and Sparta (174).

Senior Corbin Gauch was match medalist with a career-best 34. Joey McDaniel was right behind at 35.

Gabe Moore (40) and Preston Chapman (41) finished the scoring.

PCHS sends its boys and girls teams to Carterville Wednesday.
