Justin Pim hired as part-time officer for Percy
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Percy Village Board met last Wednesday where Justin Pim was approved as a new part-time officer for the Percy Police Department. Pim will be allowed to work 20 hours a week.
An approval was made to donate $200.00 to the Steeleville Senior Center. The board has been graciously donating the money since around July to help cut the costs. The center is open to anyone from the Percy area, as well as Willisville. The board recommended that seniors take advantage of the nutritious food and fun-filled activities.
The levee ordinance was tabled to a future date.
Mayor Dale Yates notified the Board of the NIMS resolution. Board members will be contacted individually to notify them when their class date will be.
The sewer grant was tabled for next month's meeting.
The golf cart ordinance that was reported back in July by the Steeleville Ledger was discussed by the board members. No members wanted to make a motion and decided to table this to a future date.
Approval was made on setting aside funding for the annual motor fuel budget. A sum up to $55,000 has been budgeted. The motor fuel budget helps cover the cost of fuel used during the winter months to run snow blowers, generators, etc.
The purchase of new electrical hookups was approved for the generator located near the maintenance Department. Currently, the hookups are old and out-of-date.
An approval was made to expand the fire residency to the 911 call-out area. This will help in the recruitment of volunteers for the fire department.
The maintenance department was approved for 25 short-sleeve and 25 long- sleeve shirts. The shirts will be purchase from Wow Designs in Steeleville.
The Police Department was approved for the purchase of Law Man Software. This software will help in preparing documents for the police department.
The board then went into executive session to discuss possible litigation charges. Once reconvened, there was no comment made to the public.
The next Percy board meeting has been scheduled for October 8, at 6:00 p.m.
