Scores were 7-0 and 11-0. Each game was limited to five innings.
DMS, 15-2, visits Trico at 4 p.m. Thursday and then plays in #204's tournament Saturday.
"We played very well defensively in each game and again had great pitching," Lady Warriors coach Jason James said. "We just need to get better and keep improving everyday."
In the opener, Cassidy Rice (14-2) tossed a two-hitter with nine strikeouts.
Kelsey Robinson had two hits.
Aubrey Davis also managed two hits and knocked in three runs. Bri Green, Rice, Rebekah Maddox and Amanda Williams all hit safely.
Emily Asbury (1-0) and Maddox combined for a no-hitter in the second game, whiffing nine more hitters.
Annie Clair Bastien and Abby Myers smacked two hits with RBI safeties coming from Sydney Heumann, Bastien, Asbury and Cassidy Hill. Bailie Caldwell contributed a single.
Katrina Whitley and Haley Stewart each knocked in two runs.
DMS was awarded #1 seed Wednesday night in the SIJHSAA Region III Class L Regional.
The event will be played in Du Quoin and begins Sept. 25 with two games. DMS battles West Frankfort (3 p.m.) with #2 Herrin against defending state champion Johnston City at 4:30.
On Saturday, Sept. 27, the regional title game will be played at noon.
The Region III winner advances to play Region VIII champ (Carlyle, Salem, Flora or Centralia) Oct. 4 in the state quarterfinals.
A story in Wednesday's paper mistakenly listed Carterville as the fourth team in the regional.
That was incorrect.
In baseball, 12-2 DMS was picked #1 seed of the Johnston City regional.
J'City (#2) and West Frankfort (#3) play the first semifinal game at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27. DMS and fourth pick Herrin then battle in the noon game. The finals are Monday, Sept. 29, at 4.
