Edward Lee King

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Edward Lee King, 74, of Tamaroa, passed away at 10:33 a.m., Thursday, September 11, 2008 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.

Edward had worked as a security guard at Nascote in Nashville, and as a plant laborer. He was a member of the Tamaroa Christian Church. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

He was born June 28, 1934, at Cisco, the son of David and Ottie (Calhoun) King.

He married Wilma Marie Weisel on June 14, 1958, at the Tamaroa Christian Church and she survives.

He is survived by his wife of Tamaroa, four children - Jesse David King and wife Dianna of Willisville, Lisa Marie Brown and husband Tony of Tamaroa, Scott Wayne King and wife Jayne of Lathan, and Michael Edward King of Robinsonville, Miss., two brothers - Dale King of Texas and Kenneth King of Lincoln, one sister - Faye Thomas of Decatur, five grandchildren, three step grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister - Mary Ella Adams.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Monday, September 15, at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa with Bro. Arven Kirkpatrick officiating.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., Sunday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.

Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery at Tamaroa.

Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Du Quoin V.F.W. and American Legion.

Friends may make memorials to the Tamaroa Christian Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
