Lady Falcons Weather Tornadoe's Storm
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Surviving a marathon second game, Elverado High School¹s Volleyball team
notched its third consecutive victory Wednesday night.
Outlasting host Zeigler-Royalton 25-7 and 32-30, the Lady Falcons
improved to 3-1. They are also 3-1 within the Black Diamond Conference and
will step out of league play for a home match against Vienna Friday night.
³I¹m so proud of our girls for just perservering,² Elverado coach
Donette Wheatley said. ³We did a good job just to hang tough and get the
win,²
Jennifer Yates paced EHS with 16 points and three aces.
Julia Bost added six points and was perfect on 23 sets. Bost had a
match-high 11 assists.
Kelsey Tuthill went 27-for-27 with six assists.
Jenna Cochran (five) and Katie Watts (four) led in digs while Hanna Scott
added three.
At the net, Mallory Winthrop dominated play with eight kills and one
block.
Watts (five kills) and Tuthill (four kills) weren¹t far behind.
³We caught that Œsecond game syndrome¹ disease,² Wheatley said.
³We played so well during the first game and then when we switched sides,
the court seemed to shrink and we couldn¹t hit anything in.²
EHS (2-2, 2-2) won an exciting junior varsity match in three games over
