Lady Panthers First in Golf Invite
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ For the first time in the decade-long history of the Lady Panther Golf Invitational, host Pinckneyville Community High School has kept the championship trophy at home.
The Lady Panthers (180) out-distanced Nashville (190) and Okawville (206) for the top spot Friday afternoon at Red Hawk Golf Club.
Anna-Jonesboro, Coulterville-Marissa, Du Quoin, Murphysboro, Red Bud, Steeleville and Trico were also entered.
Seniors Leah Eisenhauer (43), Katherine Bray (43) and Morgan Heisner (44) led the way for PCHS.
Sophomore Kelsey Cicardi (50) was the fourth Lady Panther scoring.
Last week, Pinckneyville was third at the 11-team Okawville Invitational and defeated Carterville (185-192) in a dual meet as Eisenhauer shot 43.
"I am very happy for the girls as they've improved a great deal," PCHS coach Dennis Kania said. "We are now starting to see and experience the rewards for all of their hard work and effort."
Tuesday, the Lady Panthers host Steeleville, Waltonville and Du Quoin before playing Wednesday in the Anna-Jonesboro Domino's Invitational.
