Alroy Long

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Alroy Gene Long, age 50, of Swanwick, passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2008 at 8:45 p.m. at his home.

Alroy was born on February 17, 1958 in Pinckneyville, a son to Albert and Julia (Hutchings) Long. He worked as a fork lift driver at Gilster -Mary Lee and was employed there for over 28 years. He loved listening to rock and roll music but his real passion was working on and restoring muscle cars.

He is survived by one son: Rodney (Jennifer) Barker of Steeleville, 14 classic cars that were his babies, one sister: Belinda (Richard) Lachler of Coulterville, one half-brother: Bob Long of Pocahontas, one half-sister: Henrietta(Jake) Stewart of Pocahontas, one nephew: Matt (Ashley) Lachler of Coulterville, one niece: Ann (Jesse) Hinds of Marion, one uncle: Loren Hutchings of Nashville, Ione aunt: Vernie Ferrari of Pinckneyville, one granddaughter: Shelby Barker and numerous cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, on Wednesday September 10, 2008 at 11 a.m. with Brother Jeff Downard officiating. Interment will be in Concord Baptist Cemetery, Rice.

Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m.

Memorials may be made to Concord Cemetery Association, Rice.
